Sales and Community Intern

Rotterdam

We are erudeon. We build two things: pass the year, which gets Dutch university students through their exams, and flow, which gets them out of the house afterwards. Last year around four hundred students paid us. This year we are opening ten programmes across Erasmus, UvA and Maastricht, and we are two founders.

This is the seat for the person who talks to those students.

Not a marketing seat. Not a support seat. You take on the conversation: the student who is deciding at eleven at night in a group chat, the representative who wants to know if we are serious, the member who came to one event and never came back. You would be the only person in the company whose job that is, with a founder beside you every week: trusted with it from day one, taught it from day one, and measured on it by week six.

What you will actually do

- Answer students. Fast, in your own voice, in the chats they already live in. - Get into programme chats and stay welcome in them. - Find the student representatives and association boards worth knowing, and know them. - Turn a waitlist into paid seats, and find out why the ones who did not buy did not. - Build the community around flow, which today is a list of names rather than a room.

What we are looking for

You are studying in Rotterdam, or you are near it, and you are enrolled for the whole six months. You are the person your friends send to talk to someone. You would rather have twenty real conversations than send two hundred messages. You can hold a group chat without sounding like an advertisement, and you can hear no without taking it personally.

You do not need sales experience. We would slightly rather you did not have any.

What you get

Six months, twenty to forty hours a week, hybrid in Rotterdam. A stage, agreed with your university or hogeschool, with written learning objectives and a founder as your supervisor. An allowance of 450 euro a month at forty hours, prorated to the hours you work. One founder in the room with you every week. And a real door at the end: if this works, there is a paid seat here, and we would rather give it to you than run this process again.

You will not be fetching coffee. There is nobody to fetch it for.

How this runs

We read every application within two working days and answer every one, including with a no. Then a thirty-minute conversation, video or in person. Then one real piece of the job, timeboxed, and paid if it takes you more than an hour. Then an offer, or a straight answer.
